Photos!

This is a way the people here grind up corn.  Just crushing it on a good old rock.  So of course I had to try it out!

A cake we made for some investigators!  It turned out really well!

We went to the temple this week!  We reached our goal as a Zone to go, and it was so great.  So needed.  I can´t wait to go to the temple as often as I want!

The little baby of Margarita when we went to go make dinner for them.  So cute!

Some of the cutest Guatemalan kids ever.  Seriously.  I want my kids to be just like them!

We made hamburgers for the 1st counselor in the Stake, and he loved it!  He was so happy, and it was really special for us to see him like that.

Just more of Guatemala!  Man I love this country so much!

The family of Becker and Alvin!

Oh my goodness, this was so funny.  So it was a less actives birthday on Sunday, so we made a cake for her.  Well, the tradition here is that after they blow out the candles, the take a bite, and someone shoves their face into the cake.  Not too much, just to cover up the mouth.  The thing is, this member was being dificult, and didn´t want us to push her into the cake!  So we all tried shoving her head in, me using my both hands, and this is what happened....  JAJAJAJAJA!  We were all laughing so hard!

Something that an Elder had that I liked.

I went with Elder Smith on divisions, and we saw a nice view of Guatemala.  So I took a picture of the beauty of Guatemala with Elder Smith´s thinking face!

I´ve been taking pictures of the good food I´ve been eating recently, and this was a good one.  It´s called Caldo de Res, or like a meat soup.  But they made it really good here, so I took a picture.

Eating Pupusas!  It´s tortilla with pork meat, beans, and cheese inside.  SO GOOD!

I love this county.  You can ride in the back of a truck going about 50 miles an hour on a very busy highway, and no one even cares.  Heck, we even saw the police doing the same thing, but I couldn´t get a picture.

Elder Josec and I with Antoni and Mishel, who are recent converts, and so awesome!

We found a Mariachi Band with some members, and of course we had to take a picture.

The Ochoa family, one of the coolest families in the ward.

We were contacting a house, and I just looked to my right, and this was my view.  Man, Guatemala is asolutely beautiful.

The average door size in Guatemala.

We were playing Jenga for a Noche de Hogar, and this is what we had at one point.

Photos!

Us coming back home a long ways from our area, and someone was nice enough to give us a ride back!

After lunch one day.  Just look at all of those lemons that we ate...

Someone shut the door to the baptismal font while the water was still going, and we didn`t have a key.  So someone had to climb the glass, hop over, and turn it off.  And that someone was me!

Cruz, Elder Josec, and I.

I`m pretty sure the picture says it all.

Cruz and his wife, Martha, after the baptism.

Just a normal occurance in Guatemala.  A dog walking down the street with some meat in his mouth.  Although we aren`t sure what it is...  We`ve narrowed it down to intestine, or cat brain...  We just don`t know where he got it from..

Some jumping pictures!

The volcano Santa María in Xela.

Walking up to Zunil today.

What do you get when you are in Guatemala with food that doesn´t agree with your stomach, very cheap toilet paper, and a lot of time and patience?  This.

Just another beautiful picture of Guatemala.
We were walking down the street one day when we see a huge crowd of people.  So naturally, we go to see what´s going on.  Turns out a cow fell in a drainage hole, and people were trying to pull it out.  So we helped out.  In this picture, I´m just off to the left.  And the hole is on the right.
Here´s the cow in the hole.
This is a painting of one of the lakes here in Guatemala, Lago Atitlán.  This is really what it looks like too.  So beautiful.  (Also, there is a lot of speculation that this might be the Waters of Mormon.)
This is the morning of the baptism that was supposed to start at 11:00.  No one was there!  Not even Cindy and her kids!  The curse of GMST (Guatemalan Mormon Standard Time).

Some kid playing in church.  Made me laugh.

Please just look at this car I found the other day.  Jeff, what are you doing here?
Some of the cutest little kids in my area.
Our genealogy!  From right to left, Grandpa, Dad, Son.
Please just guess how many people there are in this car.  This was a ride from church, and we were hanging off the back.
     Do you have your guess?
     Are you sure?

     19.  Welcome to Guatemala.

Just look how beautiful Guatemala is.
This is me trying to sneak a photo of a classic Guatemalan bus.  We went to Huehue this week for a baptism of a guy Elder Josec was teaching.  And this is how we got there.  This is the main form of travel here.  And I love it.
A really cool picture of Parque Central in Xela.  I thought Dad would really like it.
